Autocross is also a serious threat to certain cone populations. In this "sport," cones are forced to stand in rows through which speeding automobiles pass. Although autocross drivers are penalized for hitting cones, many of our orange friends are maimed "accidently." Occasionally, cones are even hit and dragged for long distances beneath the speeding car. This reckless behaviour has resulted in the death and dismemberment of many innocent and trusting cones.
